Benefits of Soundproof Insulation in Your Home Office
With advances in technology, working from home is easier than ever before. Many homeowners make their at-home workplace as much like a real office as possible to encourage productivity. One way to accomplish this — and simultaneously improve the thermal performance of your home — is by installing cellulose soundproof insulation.
In today’s blog, the experts at Valley Insulation take a closer look at the benefits of soundproof insulation in your home office.
Soundproofing Mimics an Office Environment
When you work from home, there is very little distance between your work and your family. This is simultaneously one of the benefits and one of the downsides. With soundproof insulation, however, you’ll enjoy a bit of relief from the chaos and conversation going on in the rest of your home. Likewise, soundproofing makes it easier for you to have confidential, professional conversations at home without being disturbed by barking dogs or boisterous children. Soundproofing could be just what you need to make that extra room a fully functioning office.
Home Improvements Lead to Higher Resale Values
Like any part of your house, the best upgrades to your home office are the ones that earn you back a piece of your investment down the road. There is a good chance that your customized home office space can be leveraged to bump up the resale value of the property if you decide to sell. Furthermore, not only is sound-deadening insulation going to improve the quality of your office acoustics, but it will also improve the efficiency of your home and ease the load on your HVAC system.
How’s it Done?
At Valley Insulation, we use a drill and blow method, which provides great sound-deadening qualities with very little fuss. It will also drastically increase energy efficiency.
To begin, we will put a small 2 ½ inch diameter hole in your wall. This will allow us to hook up a hose which we will use to blow cellulose soundproof insulation into your walls. Cellulose is made up of small bits of recycled paper that will fill the wall cavity. Once the wall cavity is full, we will fill the hole with a styrofoam plug.
